The Tammy Faye Biopic
In the conflict between faith and wealth, the victory is clear for greed in this director's brilliantly over-the-top true story regarding the shamed televangelist and her felon spouse. The actor acts as the greedy Jim, who proclaims at the beginning, “God does not want us to be poor,”. The couple begin capitalizing on the nation's spiritual convictions. It's a spectacle of tacky decor, overdone appearance and insincerity, however Jessica Chastain achieves to present the real-life figure as a sympathetic figure. Tuesday 14 October, 1.15am, Film4
